All are born legitimate and relationships clear.
How can this happen?

if the two widows had a son each and if the two widows were married to the son of the other and with this relationship of marriage they had a daughter, all the relationships can be found.

#212 - One Question To Find Village

Mr. Buttons was all set to go to the village of Buttonland to meet his friend. So, he packed his bags and left for the village at 5 in the morning. Upon travelling on a road for miles, he came across a point where the road diverged into two. He was confused on which road to take. He gazed around and he saw two owls sitting on a branch. He thought he could ask for directions for the village from the two owls. So he went to the tree. There he saw a sign which read, "One owl always lies, and one is always truthful. They both fly away if you ask them more than 1 question."
Mr. Buttons was caught in the dilemma of what to ask? And from which owl to ask, since he only had one question. What should Mr. Buttons ask?

Ask any of the owl, "if I would ask the owl sitting next to you: which is the road to
the village, what would it answer?"
If you ask this to the lying owl, it will point you in the wrong way.
If you ask this to the one who speaks the truth, it will also point you in the wrong way.
Thus, ask the question and take the other road. You will reach the village.

#213 - River Crossing Guard Prisoner Family

A river should be crossed by a father, a mother and their two sons and two daughters.
There are some rules that should be followed while crossing the river. There can be only two people in the raft while crossing. The daughters cannot be with their father unless there is the presence of the mother. The sons cannot be with their mothers unless the father is present. Unless the guard is on the board, the criminals cannot be with any of the family members. Only the adults like the father, the guard, and the mother knows to use the raft.

#214 - Logic Container Time Puzzle

A large container is kept in open under the rain. Every passing hour, the water collected inside the container becomes double it was.


In ten hours, the container is filled completely. Can you calculate how long would it have taken to be filled half?

The answer is 9 hours.


Since we know that the water becomes double in the quantity every passing hour and that it was filled completely in ten hours, we need to go back one-step. Take out one hour and divide the quantity by 2.

A king sentenced a man of death sentence for some crime he had committed. Known for his kindness, the king told the culprit that he had a choice to die through a way he decides.

The culprit was clever and said something that saved him from the death. What method do you think he must have chosen for his death ?

#216 - How Many Times Chocolate Bar

There is a 2 x 8 chocolate bar I have with me. I can break this bar along the length or the breadth. Now, I want to obtain 1 x 1 pieces.

How many times do you think I need to break it to get what I want ?

You can calculate it using old school way. However if you want to solve using logic, you can look below:
There is one piece of chocolate and we need exactly 2 x 8 = 16 pieces.
Whenever you break that bar, you will get one more piece. Thus, you will need to break it (16 - 1) = 15 times.

#217 - Bottles Count Logic Maths Puzzle

A shopkeeper allows people to buy a bottle of cold drink in exchange of five empty bottled. A guy had a party at home and he managed to spend 77 cold drink bottles in the party. Now he has 77 empty bottles with him.

How many bottles do you think he can buy in exchange of those 77 empty bottles ?

He can purchase 19 new bottles in return.

He will get 15 bottles after returning 75 empty bottles and will be left 2 empty bottles.
Now, the 15 bottles when empty will get him 3 more bottles.
The three empty bottles will get him another bottle. Remember he had 2 empty bottles as well.

#218 - Pattern Logic Puzzle

A game of table tennis was being played. The match was a mixed double one. George and Ted were the opponents who had to choose from the following partners
Ann
Edna
Mary
Joan
Angela

George was given the chance first and he chose Mary. There was a reason why he chose her. Whom will Ted choose if he follows the same logic?

Ted will choose Ann.

Just replace the alphabets with their corresponding numbers and add them.

TED = 20 + 5 + 4 = 29
ANN = 1 + 14 + 14 = 29

In the case of George and Mary, both adds to 57 and this was the logic.

#219 - Logic Statement Riddle

Is the statement valid that it does not matter how much older a sibling is, eventually the younger one will be half as old as the older one ?

The statement is true only if both of the siblings live till the younger one is as old as the older one was when the younger was born.
